HiLITE Group announced that Neka Sulaiman, the daughter of Group Chairman P. Sulaiman, has taken charge of the Group’s hospitality division as Director of HiLITE Holdings. In her new role, she will lead the expansion of HiLITE’s hospitality portfolio, targeting the development of 1,000 hotel keys across Kerala by the year 2030. The planned portfolio will span luxury, upscale and midscale hotel segments, with the city of Kozhikode identified as a focal market due to its growing business, tourism, healthcare and education ecosystem.
Neka Sulaiman highlighted that the Group’s objective is not merely numerical but also to create hospitality infrastructure that integrates with the city’s cultural and social fabric. She stated, “This is the right time to strengthen Kozhikode’s hospitality landscape. Our target is not just about numbers, but about creating the right hospitality infrastructure for a growing city.”
Chairman P. Sulaiman commented on his daughter’s appointment, emphasizing her commitment, character and willingness to take ownership, and added, “The true measure of a leader lies in character, judgement and responsibility. These are qualities I have seen in Neka over the years. I look forward to the fresh perspective she will bring to HiLITE Group.”
Neka’s professional background includes hands‑on operational experience with Hug a Mug, HiLITE Group’s home‑grown café brand, which she managed during her educational period. She completed her schooling at The White School International (International Baccalaureate) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree as well as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) qualification, providing her with a solid foundation in finance, management and business strategy.
With Neka at the helm, HiLITE Group aims to build a robust hospitality vertical that meets Kerala’s rising demand for quality hotel infrastructure while continuing the Group’s legacy through new‑generation leadership.
