On 10 September 2026, Hyderabad‑based startup HostMyGuest announced the launch of an on‑demand furnishing platform aimed at preserving the Indian cultural principle \"Atithi Devo Bhava\". The service allows families to request additional beds, seating and other furniture for the exact days of an event through the company’s booking portal; HostMyGuest handles delivery, professional setup and post‑event collection, removing the need for hosts to manage multiple vendors.
The company was founded by Gali Arundar Sai, who serves as Founder and Chief Executive Officer, and Subhash Chunduri, Founder and Chief Technology Officer. Sai emphasizes that hosting in India is “emotional before it is logistical”, while Chunduri highlights the platform’s focus on eliminating friction for the host.
HostMyGuest currently operates across all major neighbourhoods in Hyderabad. In the first four months since commencement, the platform has accommodated more than 700 guests at weddings, festivals and family functions, indicating latent demand for a structured alternative to hotel accommodation.
The firm positions the offering not as a competitor to hotels but as a complementary solution that keeps guests under the same roof, thereby maintaining the informal interactions that characterize Indian celebrations. The service is presented as a practical infrastructure enabling families to uphold traditional hospitality without the constraints of limited home furniture.
