Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar on 3rd July, 2026 at Patna, Bihar.
Key Terms of the MoU:
- HUDCO will provide term loans to the extent of ₹1,00,000 Crore (Rupees One Lakh Crore) over a period of 5 years
- Funding will be for various Urban infrastructure projects including land acquisition
- The MoU specifically aims to facilitate planning, development and financing of proposed Greenfield Satellite Cities in Bihar
- Loans will be availed in tranches by a statutory authority specifically designated by the State Government
- Funds will be provided on flexible terms and conditions including a moratorium period
- Flexible repayment schedule up to 25 years with option of prepayment
- Loan repayment will be made from escrowing revenue generated from the project or by ringfencing other sources of revenues from identified receivables/state budget
- Separate operational agreements with specified scope of work and terms will be executed based on mutually agreed terms
- The MoU remains valid for 3 years from the date of execution subject to annual review
