ICICI Prudential Life Insurance announced that its claim settlement ratio for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1‑FY2027) stood at 99.31%, the highest level recorded among the top life insurance companies in India based on publicly disclosed Form L‑39 and L‑40 data. During the quarter the insurer settled individual death claims amounting to ₹414.08 crore, with an average claim size of roughly ₹15 lakh per policyholder, which was also the highest average among its peers.

Speed of Settlement and Digital Initiatives

The company highlighted that for non‑investigated claims the average turnaround time from receipt of the last required document to payment was just one day. Under its “Claim for Sure” initiative, approximately ₹75 crore was disbursed within a single day for eligible claims. Claimants can lodge and monitor claims through multiple digital channels, including a mobile app, WhatsApp, chatbot, and the company website, reflecting the insurer’s emphasis on digitalisation.

Corporate Naming and Financial Scale

The Board of Directors approved a proposal to rename the entity to “ICICI Life Insurance Limited”, subject to the requisite regulatory approvals. As of 30 June 2026, the insurer reported assets under management (AUM) of Rs 3.34 lakh crore and an in‑force sum assured portfolio of Rs 48.06 lakh crore. The company also noted that it is the first Indian insurance company listed on both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
