Press Release – IEM‑UEM Group and Invariz Private Limited MoU (28 Oct 2026)

On 28 October 2026, the IEM‑UEM Group announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Invariz Private Limited. The MoU is aimed at strengthening industry‑academia collaboration and accelerating the development of next‑generation capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, digital technologies, research and innovation.

The core component of the partnership is the creation of a Joint Centre of Excellence in AI & Gen AI. This centre will serve as a platform for advanced interdisciplinary research, technology development, experiential learning and industry‑oriented innovation. It is expected to support the development and validation of AI‑driven solutions and provide faculty members, researchers and students with opportunities to engage with real‑world industry challenges.

The collaboration outlines a broad spectrum of academic and professional engagements, including:

  • Faculty‑industry exchange visits and joint teaching or consultancy activities, subject to prior approval;
  • Student training programmes, workshops, hackathons and specialised training sessions to enhance skill development;
  • Joint research initiatives and participation in nationally and internationally funded research projects;
  • Organisation of seminars, workshops and hackathons to foster a research‑centric culture;
  • Opportunities for industry‑sponsored research, prototype development and knowledge exchange in mutually agreed areas;
  • Potential paid internships and consideration for pre‑placement offers for students, contingent on Invariz’s business requirements and applicable company policies.

In the leadership statement, Prof. (Dr.) Satyajit Chakrabarti, Vice‑Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Management (UEM), emphasized that education must extend beyond classroom boundaries and actively engage with emerging challenges. He noted that the MoU will create new avenues for collaborative research, industry‑supported projects and the development of practical AI‑driven solutions, thereby preparing graduates for an increasingly AI‑driven world.

The press release concludes that the sustained engagement between academia and enterprise is expected to generate long‑term academic, technological and societal value, reinforcing the IEM‑UEM Group’s commitment to research‑driven education and future‑ready professional development.
