IIM Kozhikode and Accenture LearnVantage Announce Global MBA Programme
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has entered a multi‑year strategic collaboration with Accenture LearnVantage to launch a Global MBA degree programme aimed at experienced international professionals. The two‑year programme is scheduled to commence in March 2027 and will be anchored at IIMK’s newly established Urban Learning Centre in Kochi, Kerala.
The curriculum comprises approximately 650 learning hours spread over four semesters. Delivery will be a blend of online learning, campus‑based sessions at the Kochi Learning Centre and international workshops conducted across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe. The target cohort includes working executives, professionals and entrepreneurs from the aforementioned regions.
Eligibility criteria require candidates to hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate of 50 % and to possess at least five years of post‑graduation experience in managerial, entrepreneurial or professional roles. Admission will be based on an evaluation of the applicant’s Statement of Purpose and a subsequent interview.
The launch marks the first step of a broader partnership that will focus on four strategic areas: (i) global learning programmes that integrate academic expertise with international perspectives and industry relevance; (ii) talent and leadership development to build future‑ready capabilities; (iii) industry‑integrated learning through live projects, practitioner engagement and innovation ecosystems; and (iv) research, innovation and entrepreneurship to address emerging business and societal challenges.
Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, stated that the Global MBA is designed to shape “visionary pragmatists” who can balance analytical rigour, innovation and human‑centred leadership while navigating the paradoxes of modern business. Anurag Bansal, Managing Director of Accenture LearnVantage for Asia‑Oceania and the Middle East, highlighted the need for leaders who can turn disruption into opportunity by linking strategy, technology and human ingenuity.
Background on IIM Kozhikode: Established in 1996 as the fifth IIM in India, the institute began its academic journey in 1997 with the flagship Post‑Graduate Programme (PGP). It now offers a wide range of programmes including PhDs, executive PG programmes, management development programmes, and a unique four‑year full‑time undergraduate Bachelor of Management Studies launched in 2025. IIMK operates a satellite campus at Infopark, Kochi, dedicated to executive education and hosts the IIMK LIVE startup incubation programme, the Indian Business Museum and seven Centres of Excellence.
The institute holds a strong global standing, ranking 3rd in the NIRF India Rankings 2025 (Management), 54th in the Financial Times Masters in Management Rankings 2026, 65th in the FT Global MBA Rankings 2025, and 78th in the QS World University Rankings for Business and Management Studies 2026.
