Programme Launch

On October 21, 2026, the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM Udaipur) announced the launch of its One‑Year MBA in Investment and Wealth Management (IWM), marking the first and only one‑year full‑time residential MBA offered by any IIM in this specialised domain. The programme is positioned to meet the growing demand for professionals equipped with advanced investment and wealth‑management skills amid rapid transformation in India’s financial services sector.

Curriculum Co‑creation and Industry Partnership

The IWM curriculum has been co‑created with ten leading Indian investment and wealth‑management firms: 360 ONE, ASK Private Wealth, Client Associates, IIFL Wealth, InCred Wealth, JM Financial, LGT Wealth India, Nippon India AMC, and Nuvame Wealth. These partners contribute to curriculum development and review, deliver guest lectures and workshops, and host participants for a one‑month industry immersion, ensuring that the learning experience aligns with contemporary industry practices.

Programme Objectives and Features

The programme aims to equip participants with specialised investment knowledge, wealth‑advisory capabilities, ethical judgement, and a deep understanding of client needs—competencies essential for building trusted client relationships and navigating a complex financial ecosystem. It prepares graduates for careers in asset management, private banking, wealth advisory, and family offices. The residential format combines IIM Udaipur’s academic rigour with practical expertise from industry practitioners.

Institutional Context and Leadership Quote

Prof. Rajesh Agrawal, Chairperson of One‑Year MBA Programs at IIM Udaipur, stated that India’s expanding financial wealth and increasingly sophisticated investment landscape require professionals who blend technical expertise with sound judgement and client‑centric focus. He highlighted the programme’s emphasis on trust, ethics, and fiduciary responsibility.

Complementary Offerings and Institutional Credentials

The IWM MBA expands IIM Udaipur’s portfolio of specialised one‑year MBA programmes, which already includes Digital Enterprise Management and Global Supply Chain Management. The institute underscores its global standing with AACSB accreditation achieved within eight years of establishment, eight consecutive years on the Financial Times Global MIM Ranking (2026), eight consecutive years on the QS Global MIM Ranking (2027), and a rank of fourth in India for management research according to the UT Dallas methodology.
