Programme Announcement
IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP) has opened admissions for the ninth batch of its six‑month online Certification in Quantum Computing & Machine Learning, targeting professionals seeking expertise at the intersection of quantum algorithms and machine‑learning techniques.
Curriculum and Delivery
The certification consists of seven structured modules covering Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Algorithms, Classical Machine Learning, Quantum Fourier Transform, Quantum Machine Learning, Product Analytics and related topics. Learners will complete more than 130 hours of synchronous and asynchronous learning, delivered through an Interactive Learning platform in Direct‑to‑Device mode. The format includes live sessions led by IIT Delhi faculty and industry experts, practical exposure to the Qiskit quantum‑computing framework, and a one‑day immersion at the IIT Delhi campus for face‑to‑face interaction with faculty and peers.
Eligibility and Career Outcomes
Candidates holding a BTech/BE, BCA/MCA, BSc in any discipline, or BA/MA in Mathematics are eligible to apply. Upon completion, participants may pursue roles such as Quantum Software Developer, Quantum Machine Learning Engineer, Quantum Data Scientist, or Quantum Consultant.
Market Context
Industry estimates value the global quantum computing market at approximately USD 3.2 billion in 2025 and project it to reach USD 20.20 billion by 2030, implying a compound annual growth rate of 41.8 percent. The expansion is driven by advances in quantum hardware, broader access via cloud platforms, and sustained public and private investment.
National Policy Support
India’s National Quantum Mission has earmarked Rs 6,003.65 crore for the period FY 2023‑24 to FY 2030‑31 to advance indigenous research, strengthen national security, foster industry innovation and position India as a significant contributor to the global quantum ecosystem.
Institutional Credentials
The programme is offered by the Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology and Management under the aegis of CEP, IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi is ranked 4th overall, 2nd in Engineering and 3rd in Research in the NIRF 2025 rankings, while its Department of Management Studies is ranked 4th among management institutions in India.
Leadership Quote
Professor Abhishek Dixit, Associate Professor at IIT Delhi, remarked that quantum computing is transitioning from scientific exploration to practical application, creating demand for professionals who can bridge advanced theory with real‑world problem solving, and that the programme equips learners with the necessary conceptual depth, computational exposure and project experience.
