Programme Announcement

IITM Pravartak, the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Madras, together with TimesPro, has announced Batch 03 of its Advanced Certificate in Applied Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning (AAIDL). The seven‑month programme will be delivered in a Direct‑to‑Digital mode with live interactive online sessions led by IIT Madras faculty and experienced industry practitioners, supplemented by webinars, assignments, a capstone project, and a campus immersion at the IIT Madras Research Park.

Target Audience and Eligibility

The programme is open to graduates and post‑graduates in engineering, mathematics, or computational sciences, as well as working professionals seeking to transition into AI‑focused roles or future‑proof their careers. Eligibility requires a graduation or post‑graduation degree in the mentioned streams.

Curriculum and Skills Covered

Learners will gain practical exposure to widely used AI and deep‑learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. The curriculum covers core and emerging areas including machine learning, deep learning, MLOps, cybersecurity essentials, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agentic AI systems. Hands‑on, case‑based instruction and guided projects aim to develop production‑grade AI capabilities, enabling participants to design, deploy, and apply AI systems with technical rigour, business relevance, and operational reliability.

Industry Context and Market Estimates

The announcement cites market estimates that the global deep‑learning market could reach USD 506.75 billion by 2035, growing at a 31.7% CAGR between 2024 and 2035. A McKinsey 2025 global survey found 88% of organisations reported regular AI use in at least one business function, yet only about one‑third had begun scaling AI programmes, indicating a shift from adoption to execution. KPMG’s Global AI Pulse Q1 2026 notes that enterprise value from AI remains uneven and will depend on alignment of operating models, governance, workforce readiness, and execution at scale.

Quotes from Programme Leaders
