Impetus Technologies Launches Forward Builders Practice
SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 23, 2026 – Impetus Technologies, a global software‑led data and AI services company, announced the launch of Forward Builders, its new enterprise AI practice. The practice formalizes work its engineers have been performing inside client operations for more than two years, building AI systems that flag fraudulent transactions, approve claims, reroute shipments, and reprice products. Each engagement is led by a Forward Builder, a professional who carries an AI system from idea through to production.
The announcement explains that traditional enterprise software development relied on sequential handoffs—product manager, designer, then engineer—which suited deterministic rule‑based software but fails for AI systems that reason, decide, and act autonomously. Forward Builders eliminates these handoffs by combining three capabilities:
1. Industry practitioner knowledge across financial services, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, and consumer industries.
2. Decision‑making clarity – builders know which decisions an AI system can safely make on its own, which require a human in the loop, and which a regulator will demand to audit.
3. Context engineering – a disciplined method with three parts: (a) what the system knows (enterprise data, rules, vocabulary, and undocumented exceptions); (b) what each agent sees and can act on (information sharing and memory among multiple agents); and (c) how the system stays relevant after launch as policies change and data moves.
The practice operates on Impetus’ LeapAI platform. Within LeapAI, LeapLogic extracts vocabulary buried in code and pipelines, while Context Fabric converts that vocabulary into governed context, defining term meanings, ownership, and agent visibility. For any AI action, LeapAI records which agent acted, the information used, and the tools invoked, and it ties AI spending directly to business results. The platform supports leading frontier models and cloud/data platforms—including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake—and open‑weight models, enabling builders to create custom, multi‑model AI systems tailored to each customer’s needs.
Two criteria determine whether an AI system survives production: (i) full accountability – every decision is traced to the responsible agent, the data used, and the tools called; and (ii) cost efficiency – the cost per decision must decline as the system scales. Forward Builders is accountable for both criteria on every engagement.
