India March 2026 PLFS: Unemployment Rate 5.1%

MoSPI released the March 2026 PLFS monthly bulletin, detailing labour market indicators for India.
Overall Labour Force Participation Rate was 55.4% in March, down from 55.9% in February.
Unemployment Rate increased to 5.1% from 4.9%, with urban UR at 6.8% and female LFPR at 34.4%.
The survey covered 375,262 individuals across rural and urban areas.
