India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) celebrated its 9th Foundation Day on September 1, 2026, marking the occasion with significant product launches and the release of comprehensive performance metrics. The bank, which is 100% owned by the Government of India under the Department of Posts, announced the launch of DakPay Sound Box for merchants to simplify digital payment acceptance, a Digital Insurance Technology Platform connecting customers to life, health, and general insurance solutions, and a Digital Mutual Fund Platform for accessible investment experiences.

As of March 31, 2026, IPPB has achieved substantial scale with a pan-India customer base of 13.25 crore, of which 77% are in rural areas and 49% are women customers. These customers have deposited ₹29,104 crore with the bank. The institution has processed ₹21.61 lakh crore in digital financial transactions, including ₹7.41 lakh crore in UPI remittances. IPPB serves 6.5 crore Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) beneficiaries who have received benefits totaling approximately ₹1.55 lakh crore. Additionally, the bank has processed 12.06 crore Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) transactions worth ₹36,140 crore, issued 29.43 lakh Digital Life Certificates to pensioners, and facilitated 9.47 crore Aadhaar Mobile Updates along with 1.35 crore Bal Aadhaar enrolments.

During the past year, IPPB introduced three new savings account variants: the SHG Savings Account designed for Self Help Groups and rural micro-entrepreneurs; the Surakshit Savings Account offering ₹25,000 cyber-insurance protection against phishing, spoofing, and SIM jacking; and the Sampoorna Savings Account combining Aarogya wellness benefits with Surakshit cyber protection. IPPB's operating model leverages India Stack and the extensive postal network of approximately 1,65,000 Post Offices (including 1,40,000 in rural areas) with 3,00,000 Postal employees, delivering services in 13 languages across 5.57 lakh villages and towns.
