India Today Group has partnered with PVR INOX Limited, India’s largest cinema exhibition company, to release the documentary “Eyewitness to a Nation” on 7 August 2026. The theatrical debut will occur in ten major cities – Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune and Chandigarh – leveraging PVR INOX’s extensive network of 1,798 screens across 359 properties in 113 cities in India and Sri Lanka.

Purpose and Content

Created to commemorate India Today’s Golden Jubilee, the film serves as a cinematic time‑capsule that chronicles five decades of Indian history through rare archival footage, first‑hand reporting and immersive storytelling. It covers historic political shifts, national crises, scientific breakthroughs, cultural milestones, economic reforms, sporting triumphs and India’s emergence as a global force.

Corporate Backgrounds

  • India Today Group is described as India’s most respected and diversified news media conglomerate, reaching over 500 million viewers monthly via four 24/7 national television channels, 18 digital platforms and nine magazines.
