The Indian Ports Association (IPA) has contributed ₹5 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund of Assam to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected people across the state. Senior officials of IPA, Sushil Kumar Singh and Vikas Narwale, met Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on August 10, 2026, to formally hand over the contribution. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal characterized this contribution as a meaningful step toward the Union Government's broader efforts to support Assam and stand with the people during this difficult time of flooding. The assistance is expected to directly support the ongoing relief operations for those affected by the floods.
