Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw met with a delegation from Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Trust from Sikar, Rajasthan, including former MP Sumedhanand Saraswati and Rajasthan Minister of State Jhabar Singh Kharra, along with temple committee representatives. The meeting focused on enhancing rail connectivity and passenger facilities for devotees visiting the world-renowned temple.
The Minister announced the approval of a new railway station to be constructed on the Sikar-Ringas rail section between Palsana and Baori Thikria stations, located approximately 11 kilometres from the temple. The project will begin with technical work including all engineering and signaling works related to the existing through railway lines, construction of the new railway line, and its integration with the existing network, followed by construction of the station building.
The station building will be designed in harmony with Rajasthan's architectural and cultural heritage and will feature a modern booking office, spacious waiting halls, clean toilets, and other passenger-friendly amenities. The development is expected to significantly improve rail access for the lakhs of devotees visiting annually, while strengthening regional connectivity, promoting tourism, and stimulating local economic activity.
