J&K Bank Partners HDFC Life, Expands Insurance Offering
On Tuesday, 18 August 2026, J&K Bank announced the signing of a Corporate Agency Agreement (CAA) with HDFC Life, one of India’s leading life‑insurance providers. The agreement enables J&K Bank’s customers to access HDFC Life’s comprehensive suite of products covering protection, savings, investment, and retirement planning.
The partnership was formally unveiled in a press conference attended by Amitava Chatterjee, MD & CEO of J&K Bank, and Vibha Padalkar, MD & CEO of HDFC Life. Also present from HDFC Life were Executive Director & Chief Business Officer Vineet Arora, Chief Operating Officer Sameer Yogishwar, Chief Bancassurance Officer Lavneesh Gupta, Group Head – Strategic & Key Alliances Anita Peshkar, SVP Bancassurance Subrata Biswas, and VP Strategic Alliances Rohit Khatri. Representing J&K Bank were Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, Chief General Managers Sunit Kumar, Imtiyaz Ahmad, and Rajesh Malla Tikoo, General Manager Anita Nehru, along with other senior officials.
In his remarks, Amitava Chatterjee emphasized that customer centricity at J&K Bank means providing a diverse range of credible and competitive solutions. He noted that adding HDFC Life to the bank’s growing panel of insurance partners significantly widens choice, strengthens the ability to offer need‑based protection, and aligns with the broader objective of deepening insurance penetration across the country. He reiterated the bank’s strategy of creating a competitive marketplace through multiple reputed insurers, which he believes generates greater value for customers.
Vibha Padalkar highlighted life insurance as a pillar of long‑term financial resilience and expressed delight at the strategic partnership. She described HDFC Life’s offerings as simple, tech‑empowered individual and group plans designed to help families achieve their financial goals with confidence.
The collaboration complements J&K Bank’s existing bancassurance ecosystem, which already includes several leading insurers. By expanding its multi‑partner approach, the bank aims to provide greater choice, facilitate need‑based selection rather than a one‑size‑fits‑all offering, and enhance the overall value proposition delivered through its extensive distribution network.
Both parties indicated that the partnership supports the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) vision of “Insurance for All by 2047,” contributing to national financial inclusion goals.
