JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), a subsidiary of JBM Auto Limited, launched the next generation 'GALAXY' electric luxury coach at Prawaas 5.0 in Gandhinagar on July 9, 2026. The launch was conducted by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Union Minister of Transport & Highways, in the presence of Shri Nishant Arya, Chairman of JBM Electric Vehicles.

The new GALAXY Coach is India's first indigenous sleeper and seater electric luxury coach, available in three variants: seater, sleeper & seater, and sleeper. Key configurations include:

  • 22 Maharaja reclining seats + 20 plush sleeper berths with onboard washroom
  • 24 Maharaja reclining seats + 20 plush sleeper berths (without washroom)

The coach offers the highest seating capacity in its segment paired with the highest luggage space, designed to enhance operator revenue potential and passenger convenience on longer routes.

Technical Features

The vehicle features European-inspired design with class-leading luxurious interiors, panoramic windows, individual AC louvers, reading lights, USB charging sockets, generous leg and head room. Safety features include ADAS-enabled architecture, EBS and ABS, hill-hold, live surveillance cameras, and emergency exits. Additional features include kneeling and height adjustment for easier boarding, electronically controlled air suspension, high-efficiency modular battery packs, fast charging, and regenerative braking.

Operational Performance

The JBM GALAXY platform has successfully demonstrated operations of over 900 kilometers per day. JBM EV continues to hold the highest market share in the Indian electric luxury coach segment.

JBM EV has deployed over 3,300 electric buses across 17 states and 12+ major airports in India. The company has a robust order book of 10,000+ electric buses and operates the world's largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility (outside China) in the Delhi-NCR region, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.
