Jindal Stainless' Jajpur manufacturing unit has been recognized with three prestigious awards at the Total Quality Management (TQM) Convention 2026 organized by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Pune Chapter.
Award Details
- Gold Award: Team Manganese from the Steel Melt Shop (AOD) for project titled 'Optimization of Manganese Recovery in 200 Series'
- Gold Award: Team Alpha from the Hot Strip Mill for project on 'Reduction of RIS Defect in 300 Series'
- Silver Award: Team Comet from Central Quality for project titled 'Reduction of Trapezoidity in Grades 304 & EN 1.4307'
Competition Context
The convention witnessed participation from 132 teams representing nearly 30 leading organizations across multiple sectors including automotive, engineering, construction, consumer durables, textiles, industrial manufacturing, and steel.
Quality Culture Initiatives
The Jajpur unit has strengthened its quality culture through widespread adoption of:
- Quality Circle (QC) initiatives
- Lean practices
- Kaizen activities
The unit currently has more than 270 Quality Circle teams involving over 2,000 employees, successfully embedding a bottom-up improvement culture across operations.
Management System
The unit's Integrated Management System (IMS) ensures alignment of quality, environmental, and safety objectives. Digital IMS platforms enable real-time monitoring, compliance tracking, and enhanced audit readiness.
