Jindal Stainless Limited has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, for recognition as an Awarding Body. This recognition enables the company to develop and offer government-recognized, industry-led qualifications and certification programs aligned with the skill requirements of the stainless steel ecosystem.

The signing ceremony was attended by:

  • Ms. Debashree Mukherjee, Chairperson, NCVET and Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
  • Lt. Col. Vikram Singh Bhati, Secretary to the Council cum Director, NCVET
  • Mr. Vijay Sharma, Director – Corporate Affairs, Jindal Stainless
  • Ms. Bhavna Chopra Srikrishna, Head – Stainless Academy, Jindal Stainless

As an Awarding Body, Jindal Stainless will be eligible to award, assess, and certify learners for approved or adopted qualifications where training is directly imparted through campuses or training centers owned or fully managed by the organization.

NCVET has approved the first qualification developed by Jindal Stainless: "Stainless Steel Decorative Pipe & Tube Manufacturing Operator" under the Capital Goods sector at NSQF Level 4. This qualification will be awarded to trainees who undergo relevant courses.

The recognition builds on Jindal Stainless' work through Stainless Academy, its education and skilling initiative focused on developing skilled blue- and white-collar workforce for the stainless steel sector. The Academy has worked across industry-aligned training, curriculum development, specialized programs for ITIs, Polytechnics and Engineering colleges, and MSME cluster development.

Managing Director Mr. Abhyuday Jindal commented that the recognition marks an important step in giving industry a stronger role in shaping and recognizing the capabilities needed for India's stainless steel sector. Director – Corporate Affairs Mr. Vijay Sharma noted that the recognition allows the company to bring greater structure to its skilling work and create a platform that brings together industry, academia, and Government.

The initiative aims to address workforce readiness gaps among fabricators, workers, employers, and students through an industry-led approach, while strengthening collaboration between industry, academia, and Government to support the development of a skilled workforce for India's growing stainless steel ecosystem.
