Jindal Stainless Limited issued a press release announcing it won six prestigious awards at the 12th National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness (NAMC).
The company's Hisar manufacturing unit received the following recognitions:
- Gold Medal under the AatmaNirbhar Factory Recognition Program (AFRP) for the fourth consecutive year
- AatmaNirbhar Nation Builder Award under AFRP for the fourth consecutive year
- Diamond Medal for the second consecutive year
- 2nd Runner-Up position in the overall NAMC rankings
The company's Mundra manufacturing unit received:
- Silver Medal under the AatmaNirbhar Factory Recognition Program (AFRP)
- AatmaNirbhar Factory Recognition under AFRP
The awards recognize the company's strategic initiatives including adoption of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean Manufacturing practices, advancement of digitalisation and Industry 4.0 initiatives, strengthening of quality, safety, health and environment (QSHE) systems, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through quality circles. The units have also focused on energy efficiency, sustainability, resource optimisation, employee capability development, cross functional collaboration, and customer-centric, data-driven operational excellence practices.
The assessment process involved a rigorous onsite evaluation conducted from April 6 to 8, 2026, where Jindal Stainless competed against 170 manufacturing units from across India. The awards were presented at the NAMC Award Ceremony held at ITC Maratha, Mumbai, on July 17, 2026, by Padma Bhushan Dr A. Sivathanu Pillai, Founder of BrahMos Aerospace.

The National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness were instituted by the International Research Institute for Manufacturing (IRIM) in 2013. The awards recognize organizations that demonstrate excellence in manufacturing practices through innovation, operational efficiency and sustainable competitiveness. The assessment is based on IRIM's 10 Manufacturing Competitiveness Indicators, evaluating participants' ability to develop, implement and sustain world-class manufacturing systems.
