Johnson & Johnson announced definitive agreement to acquire Atraverse Medical, a privately-held medical device firm.
Atraverse develops the FDA-cleared HOTWIRE Transseptal Access System, a radiofrequency guidewire used in left‑heart access for atrial fibrillation.
The system has been employed in nearly 3,000 clinical procedures and features impedance‑sensing shutoff, sheath compatibility, and tip visibility.
Transaction aims to broaden J&J’s cardiac ablation portfolio and is expected to close in Q2 2026, with terms undisclosed.
