Jones Day disclosed a phishing‑based data breach that exposed files of ten client firms, as reported on 7 April 2026.
The breach was claimed by cyber‑criminal group Silent, which listed Jones Day on an extortion site; all affected clients were notified.
Spokesperson Dave Petrou confirmed the incident; Jones Day previously suffered a similar breach in 2021.
The firm’s client roster includes Goldman Sachs, McDonald’s and General Motors, though their identities were not disclosed.
