Operational Capacity Update
JSW Energy Limited has successfully added 1,466 MW of total capacity since April 2026, comprising:
- 1,166 MW of renewable capacity added organically
- 300 MW of inorganic thermal capacity added through the recent completion of Maruti Clean Coal and Power Limited's acquisition
This addition brings the company's total installed capacity to 14,920 MW. The renewable capacity addition since April 2026 has already surpassed 94% of the total organic capacity addition achieved in FY26.
Capacity Breakdown
The current installed capacity mix is as follows:
Renewable Energy Portfolio (60% of total capacity):
- Wind: 3,125 MW
- Solar: 2,360 MW
- Hybrid: 1,696 MW
- Hydro: 1,781 MW
Thermal Portfolio (40% of total capacity):
- Total thermal capacity: 5,958 MW
Future Targets and Pipeline
The company remains on track to deliver its 3 GW greenfield capacity addition target for FY2027.
Total Locked-in Generation Capacity: 32.4 GW
- Operational capacity: 14.9 GW
- Under construction: 13.5 GW (across thermal, hydro and renewables)
- Pipeline: 4.0 GW
Energy Storage Capacity: 29.6 GWh
- Pumped hydro storage: 26.4 GWh
- Battery energy storage: 3.2 GWh
Strategic Objectives
JSW Energy aims to:
- Reach 30 GW of generation capacity by 2030
- Achieve 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030
- Achieve carbon neutrality by 2050
