JSW Energy Limited has successfully commissioned the 150 MW hydroelectric power project of Tidong Power Generation Private Limited ("Tidong Power"), a run-of-river hydro plant located in the Tidong valley in Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh. The project was commissioned ahead of the previously guided timeline of October 2026.
Tidong Power (150 MW) has a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd to procure 75 MW power during the months of May to October at a tariff of ₹5.57/KWh.
This is the company's fourth hydro asset in Himachal Pradesh and represents a strategic addition to its hydro portfolio, reinforcing its position as India's largest private hydropower player. The project is expected to be earnings-accretive in FY27, supported by its remunerative tariff and ability to capitalize on the ongoing hydro season. Its proximity to the Karcham Wangtoo plant is expected to enable operational synergies.
With this commissioning, the company's total installed capacity added in Q1 FY27 (to date) stands at approximately 445 MW, comprising 225 MW wind, 70 MW solar, and 150 MW hydro. This takes the total installed capacity to approximately 13,900 MW.
JSW Energy has total locked-in generation capacity of 32.1 GW, comprising 13.9 GW operational capacity and 13.6 GW under construction across thermal, hydro, and renewable sources, with an additional pipeline of 4.6 GW. The company also has 29.6 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through hydro pumped storage projects (26.4 GWh) and battery energy storage system (3.2 GWh).
The company aims to reach 30 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030, and achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
