Kalpataru Limited announced that it is among the first real‑estate developers in Mumbai to utilise the Model Sub Registration Office (SRO) system introduced by the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Government of Maharashtra, in partnership with VFS Global. The adoption is aimed at making property registration faster, more seamless and convenient for homebuyers.
Details of the Model SRO
The Model SRO facility is located at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. It combines technology, professional processes and a hospitality‑led environment. Subject to complete documentation, the registration process can be completed in approximately 30 minutes, with same‑day documentation. The centre has a capacity of about 30 registrations or tokens per day. Customers benefit from lounge‑style waiting areas, trained staff and a structured registration journey.

Managing Director Parag M. Munot said the initiative is a “great initiative and a welcome, progressive step,” thanking Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule for their vision. He added that the technology‑enabled, customer‑centric approach of the Model SRO could transform property registrations in Maharashtra and provide an added advantage to consumers.
