Strategic Alliance Overview

Kapiva, a science‑backed Ayurvedic brand, has entered into a strategic technology‑transfer and commercialisation agreement with the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), the apex research body under the Ministry of AYUSH. Under the agreement, CCRAS will grant Kapiva access to its proprietary Ayurvedic formulations, scientific intellectual property, standardisation and manufacturing protocols, together with supporting pre‑clinical and clinical data.

Product Scope and Health Areas

The partnership will initially cover ten products targeting health areas that include pain, stress, metabolic health, sleep, liver health and respiratory health. Kapiva plans to launch these products within the next six to nine months.

Development and Commercialisation Responsibilities

Kapiva will lead the next stage of product development, which involves adapting the CCRAS formulations into modern, consumer‑friendly formats, optimizing taste, shelf‑life, delivery mechanisms and overall convenience. Where a dosage form is altered, Kapiva will conduct appropriate dose‑equivalence studies. The company will also manage scale‑up manufacturing, branding, and nationwide distribution through its existing offline network of over 50,000 stores in India and its wholly‑owned subsidiaries in the USA and the Middle East.

CCRAS Contributions

CCRAS will provide the proprietary Ayurvedic technologies, the scientific IP, detailed standardisation and manufacturing protocols, and the pre‑clinical and clinical evidence that underpin each formulation. This ensures that the scientific and quality standards established by CCRAS are maintained throughout commercialisation.

Alignment with Ministry of AYUSH Initiatives

The collaboration reflects the Ministry of AYUSH’s broader objective of facilitating technology transfer and commercialisation of validated Ayurvedic research. It complements Kapiva’s earlier launch of the Kapiva Innovation Fund, aimed at supporting Ayurveda research and innovation, and the establishment of Kapiva Ayurveda Clinics in Bengaluru, which deliver structured, evidence‑led Ayurvedic care.

Corporate Background

Kapiva positions itself as a home‑grown, science‑backed Ayurveda brand focused on making evidence‑based Ayurveda simple, modern and accessible for everyday wellness. It operates a dedicated R&D vertical, has expanded globally through subsidiaries, and maintains a strong offline presence across more than 50,000 Indian retail outlets.
