Kauvery Hospital performed a minimally invasive bronchoscopic removal of an endobronchial tumour in a 32‑year‑old man, ending a two‑month cough.
The procedure employed a bronchoscope, heated wire loop electrocautery snare, cryotherapy, and a Fogarty balloon to control bleeding and secure the airway.
A multidisciplinary team of pulmonologists, radiologists and a cardiothoracic surgeon, led by Dr Adithya Vivek S and Dr Belinda Anet, performed the procedure.
The release stresses that persistent coughs lasting weeks warrant early bronchoscopy evaluation to detect airway obstruction and improve outcomes.
