Launch Announcement

KBE (Krishna Buildestates Pvt. Ltd.) and Vigyanlabs Innovations Pvt. Ltd. will officially unveil FEMTO, described as India’s breakthrough sovereign AI platform, on 5 September 2026 at JSS College of Pharmacy in Mysuru. The ceremony will be attended by Dr S. Somanath, former Chairman of ISRO, who will act as Chief Guest.

Strategic Partnership and Market Access

The launch follows a strategic partnership between KAS (Krishnaa Advance Systems) – a subsidiary of KBE – and Vigyanlabs, formalised through a joint venture named Kasvin. Under the agreement, KAS holds a Right of First Refusal (ROFR) for commercialisation, deployment and scaling of FEMTO‑based solutions across identified sectors, positioning it as the preferred partner for government, defence, enterprise AI, edge computing and data‑centre applications.

Technology Overview

FEMTO is a fully integrated, modular “AI‑in‑a‑box” solution that combines computing, storage, networking, virtualization and orchestration into a single air‑gapped unit. Four variants are planned; the flagship FEMTO‑4 appliance supports AI models with more than 400 billion parameters, delivers 8 GPUs with 768 GB of GPU VRAM, and consumes under 5.5 kW. The platform runs on Virtune, an indigenously owned orchestration and virtualization hypervisor, and on IPM+, a patented intelligent power‑management platform already deployed across more than 6 lakh PCs and desktops globally, which uses AI to map user behaviour and cut power use by 30 %.

Energy Efficiency and Cost Benefits

The FEMTO architecture is 100 % air‑cooled, eliminating water dependency and achieving a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) below 1.3, compared with the industry‑typical range of 1.8–2.0. The platform claims 50 % lower power consumption, 30 % reduction in data‑centre capital expenditure, and total operating costs roughly one‑third of traditional facilities. Additional environmental claims include zero carbon footprint demonstrated through a solar‑powered proof‑of‑concept data centre, and zero water usage.

Investment and Financial Commitment

The rollout is backed by a planned investment of ₹100 crore over the coming year to scale production, deployment and market penetration.

Leadership and Engineering

FEMTO’s engineering is led by Srinivas Varadarajan, former senior executive at HP and Dell and Principal Architect of India’s Aadhaar data centre, who has built sustainable data centres worldwide. Vigyanlabs contributes 18 years of deep‑tech innovation, holds 9 US patents, and reports over 2,000 GWh of proven energy savings from prior deployments. Execution leadership is provided by Rahul Bahl, Managing Director of KAS, a third‑generation business leader with a track record of scaling ventures.
