Kirby Building Systems & Structures India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Alghanim Industries, held a groundbreaking ceremony on 7 September 2026 in Manapparai, near Trichy, Tamil Nadu, marking the start of construction of its fourth pre‑engineered steel building (PEB) manufacturing facility in India.

Facility Details

The new plant will be built on approximately 33.2 acres and is designed for an annual production capacity of 100,000 metric tonnes of steel structures. Commercial operations are slated to begin by mid‑2027. Upon commissioning, Kirby India's cumulative manufacturing capacity will rise from 300,000 tonnes to 400,000 tonnes per year, enhancing its ability to serve customers across Southern India and other key markets.

Strategic Context

The expansion reflects Kirby’s 26‑year presence in India, during which it has established over 25 sales offices, more than 150 certified builders, and completed more than 45,000 buildings with a total built‑up area of roughly 50 million square metres. The company already operates three manufacturing facilities located in Hyderabad, Haridwar and Halol (Gujarat). The Tamil Nadu plant will complement this network and enable faster, more flexible delivery of engineered steel solutions.

Sir Kutayba Y. Alghanim, Executive Chairman of Alghanim Industries, said the investment demonstrates continued confidence in India’s long‑term industrial development. Waleed K. Alghanim, CEO of Kirby International, described the project as part of “The Next 50” strategy, expanding capacity and strengthening presence in a dynamic industrial region. P. V. Mohan, Managing Director of Kirby India, noted that the new facility will bring advanced manufacturing capabilities closer to Southern Indian markets, improving speed and reliability.
