Convocation Overview
Mumbai, Maharashtra – On October 7, 2026, K J Somaiya Institute of Management (KJSIM) conducted its Annual Convocation, awarding degrees to 1,244 students drawn from 11 graduating batches. The graduating cohort spanned a wide portfolio of programmes, including MBA, MBA Executive, MBA in Sports Management, MBA in Healthcare Management, MCA, specialised PGDM Executive, and PGDM Operations and Supply Chain Management for partner organisations.
Academic Honors
The ceremony recognised academic excellence with 16 Gold Medals and 15 Silver Medals presented to top‑performing students.
Executive Education Participation
For the first time, students from two Executive Education offerings joined the regular programmes on the convocation stage, underscoring KJSIM’s expanding role in professional development and its structured learning pathways for early‑career professionals and seasoned executives.
Parivartan Initiative and Student Progression Index (SPI)
KJSIM’s flagship transformation framework, Parivartan, operates on two pillars – Nurturing Potential (NP) and the Student Progression Index (SPI). SPI evaluates development across academic and non‑academic dimensions. Raghav Banka secured the top SPI rank, highlighting the institute’s emphasis on holistic, industry‑ready skill building.
Placement Outcomes
For the MBA Class of 2024‑26, the institute reported a 97% placement rate, with 586 of 603 participating students receiving job offers. The flagship MBA Core programme achieved a 98% placement rate, placing 545 of 555 students. The batch’s peak domestic salary reached ₹29.30 lakh per annum, while the average salary for the top 10% of students was ₹19.94 lakh per annum.
Chief Guest and Alumni Perspective
Alumnus Ashutosh, Founder and CEO of KANALYTICS and a 1996 PGDBA graduate, addressed the graduates. He highlighted artificial intelligence as a great equaliser, stating that marks alone will not determine success and that equal opportunity lies in how one leverages those opportunities. Ashutosh’s career spans over 16 years in entertainment and television broadcasting, rising from Management Trainee to senior leadership roles before founding KANALYTICS in 2013.

Dr. Raman Ramachandran, Director & Dean of KJSIM and former Chairman and Managing Director of BASF India, emphasized that an MBA education must be a transformational step rather than a mere transaction, urging graduates to continuously evolve personally and professionally.

KJSIM is accredited by AACSB and ranks 51st among business schools in Asia in the QS Rankings, positioning it among the top 10 business schools in India.
