Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Founder and CMD of KP Group, announced the creation of the Annual Environmental Excellence Awards, to be launched in 2027, recognizing individuals, institutions, NGOs, researchers, innovators, industries, government agencies, and social leaders for contributions to environmental conservation, climate action, renewable energy, afforestation, biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, water management, circular economy, green entrepreneurship, and community‑led sustainability programmes.
The awards will be administered by the KP Human Development Foundation, with Shri Pasha Patel (“Bamboo Man of India”) appointed as Head of the scrutiny committee responsible for transparent evaluation of nominations.
KP Group, a renewable‑energy and infrastructure conglomerate, currently manages over 8.5 GW of renewable capacity and reports carbon‑offsets equivalent to planting 28 crore trees, alongside planting more than 7 lakh trees in Gujarat and other sustainability initiatives such as artificial‑paper magazines and glass water bottles.
