KPMG Closes Federal Audit Unit, $60M Lost

KPMG will shut its federal government audit practice, moving over 450 U.S. staff to other roles.
The closure follows loss of a $60 million annual Pentagon contract, the practice’s largest single customer.
KPMG says the wind‑down will be orderly, multiyear and will meet all client and regulatory obligations.
