Meeting and Strategic Commitment
KRAFTON Inc. Chairman Byung Gyu Chang met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on 5 September 2026. During the meeting, Chang reaffirmed KRAFTON’s long‑term commitment to India’s rapidly expanding gaming, technology and digital entertainment ecosystem and highlighted the bilateral opportunities between India and the Republic of Korea.
Investment Plan
To date, KRAFTON has invested USD 250 million in India. The company announced an additional USD 250 million commitment to be deployed over the next three to four years, bringing the total planned investment in the country to approximately USD 500 million. These funds will support the growth of the Indian gaming ecosystem, home‑grown intellectual property, and startups, while expanding focus to emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics and deep‑tech.
Venture and Growth Funds
KRAFTON has established a USD 670 million venture growth fund aimed at facilitating further investments in India. In partnership with South‑Korean technology giant Naver and financial services firm Mirae Asset, KRAFTON set up the KRAFTON India Unicorn Growth Fund, a Rs 6,000 crore (approximately USD 72 million) vehicle designed to back high‑potential Indian startups and accelerate the development of next‑generation global technology leaders.
Talent Development and Acquisitions
The company launched KIGI Academy, an industry‑academia initiative intended to build future‑ready skills across game development and digital creation. KRAFTON also strengthened its Indian presence by acquiring Nautilus Mobile, a Pune‑based studio known for the popular Real Cricket franchise, underscoring its commitment to nurturing locally developed intellectual property and Indian gaming talent.
KRAFTON India Footprint
KRAFTON India, responsible for premier mobile gaming experiences such as Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)—which has surpassed 260 million downloads—also publishes titles like Bullet Echo India, Road To Valor: Empires, CookieRun India, and Real Cricket. Since 2021, KRAFTON India has invested over USD 250 million in Indian startups across interactive entertainment, gaming, esports and technology. The firm further supports developers through the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI), providing funding, mentorship and strategic guidance.

The engagement aligns with the Prime Minister’s “Viksit Bharat” vision and the “Create in India, Create for India, Create for the World” mission, aiming to enable Indian talent to build globally competitive games and digital experiences for both domestic and international audiences.
