Announcement
On 11 August 2026, KRAFTON India disclosed that popular Indian content creator Ajey Negar, known as CarryMinati, will be introduced as a fully playable character in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) for the first time in the game’s history. This marks the inaugural instance of an Indian creator being integrated beyond a cameo or cosmetic role.
Collaboration Details
The collaboration, part of the BGMI 4.5 season, features a boss battle, a new WOW map, an exchange event, and an entire in‑game collection titled the Frost‑and‑Flame CarryMinati Collection. All visual and item designs were created by NotYourType, India’s largest anime channel, establishing a creator‑to‑creator partnership within the game.
In‑Game Content and Timeline
The CarryMinati content will be live from 15 August to 13 September 2026 across both the classic mode and the WOW Maps ecosystem. Players can engage with the CarryMinati WOW map, a 2v2 Team Deathmatch arena built around his signature style, and confront the CarryMinati Boss in classic mode on Erangel and Livik. Defeating the boss and completing select Play & Win challenges awards CarryMinati Tokens, which can be redeemed during the CarryMinati Exchange Event for exclusive loot. Discount vouchers of 20, 30 and 50 UC are available, each redeemable up to five times per user for the CarryMinati Spin.
Collection Items
The collection includes: the CarryMinati Set (graffiti‑print tracksuit, tinted aviators, fur‑lined red cape, orange high‑tops); the Cryo King Set (crystalline ice‑armor suit with a golden crown collar); a premium gold‑framed CarryMinati collector card; the Cryo Runner Buggy (frost‑and‑gold dune buggy); the Cryo Fire UMP45 skin (royal‑blue with phoenix‑feather crest); the Cryo Blast Grenade (blue “CLIMAX” grenade with golden cobra‑shaped lever); the Cryo Core Backpack (ice‑and‑gold shell with phoenix wings); a CarryMinati emote; voice packs for CarryMinati, NotYourType, and the Recall Tower; and the CarryMinati WOW map itself.
Statements
Ajey Negar (CarryMinati) expressed enthusiasm, noting that gaming has always been integral to his identity and that being dropped directly into the BGMI lobby feels “bigger, bossier and louder.” Srinjoy Das, Director of Marketing and Product Management at KRAFTON India, emphasized that gaming now coexists with creators, memes and livestreams, and that CarryMinati’s cultural relevance makes him a natural fit for an immersive experience rather than a simple campaign.
Broader Context
KRAFTON India highlighted that BGMI has surpassed 260 million downloads and that the company has invested over $250 million in Indian gaming, esports and technology startups since 2021. It also operates the KRAFTON India Unicorn Growth Fund, a Rs 6,000 crore vehicle jointly established with South Korean technology group Naver and financial services firm Mirae Asset, aimed at accelerating high‑potential Indian tech ventures. The firm runs the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) to support emerging developers with funding, mentorship and strategic guidance.
