KRAFTON India announced on October 16, 2026 in Bangalore that its upcoming mobile gaming title, previously announced as BGMI LITE, will now be launched under the name BGMI Air. The rebranding signals the next phase of KRAFTON’s effort to deliver the core BGMI experience in a streamlined, lighter format.

Pre‑Registration Milestone

Since opening pre‑registration for Android users on August 25, 2026 via Google Play, more than 10 million players have signed up for BGMI Air, indicating strong anticipation ahead of the full launch later in the year.

Game Specifications

BGMI Air is designed with an initial download size of approximately 1 GB, making it accessible to devices with limited storage. Existing BGMI players will not need to transfer their accounts; they can access BGMI Air as a separate game.

Beta and Launch Plans

An open beta for BGMI Air will be introduced shortly to collect player feedback and refine the experience. KRAFTON India also committed to delivering regular updates and new content as the launch approaches.

Corporate Background

KRAFTON India, responsible for the flagship title Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), has achieved over 260 million downloads across its portfolio, which includes titles such as Road To Valor: Empires, CookieRun India, and Real Cricket. Since 2021, the company has invested more than $250 million in Indian startups within interactive entertainment, gaming, esports, and technology. It also launched a ₹6,000 crore KRAFTON India Unicorn Growth Fund in partnership with Naver and Mirae Asset. The firm runs the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI), now in its fourth cohort, and recently introduced the KIGI Academy in collaboration with IIT Madras to nurture game development talent.
