Kwality Pharmaceuticals Limited announced the acquisition of 4 acres of land adjacent to its existing manufacturing facility in Amritsar, Punjab. The land acquisition is intended to support the company's next phase of growth through manufacturing expansion.
The company plans to develop a fully automated manufacturing facility on this land comprising:
- 4 injectable production lines
- 6+ lines for tablets, capsules, ophthalmic, and other oral solid dosage formulations
The facility is being designed with consideration to applicable EU GMP requirements, including Annex 1 compliance where relevant.
The expansion aims to:
- Meet growing demand for existing and upcoming products
- Create capacity for future product launches
- Capture bioequivalence-led opportunities
- Strengthen the company's Amritsar manufacturing campus
The project has the following timeline:
- Targeted completion: Q4 FY2028
- Full operations expected: Q2 FY2029
