L&T Finance Ltd., a leading non‑banking financial company (NBFC) in India, announced a strategic partnership with Pine Labs Ltd., a global payments‑technology firm, at the Global Fintech Fest 2026. The collaboration will integrate an Agentic Storefront into the L&T Finance PLANET App, with the inaugural use case being autonomous flight‑ticket bookings.

The solution is powered by Pine Labs Payments Protocol (P3P) and the Grantex protocol. Buyer‑side AI agents on the PLANET App capture customer intent within predefined guardrails, discover real‑time flight availability and fares via seller‑side agents that connect to airline systems, and complete payment autonomously using UPI functionality embedded in the app. The Grantex layer provides authorisation delegation, verifiable identity, spend controls and auditability, ensuring a secure, governed transaction lifecycle.

Manish Kumar Gupta, Chief Executive – Urban Unsecured Assets, Payments & Digital Partnerships at L&T Finance, said the partnership marks a shift from conversational assistance to true transaction execution, enabling hyper‑personalised, effortless commerce and payments. Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Technology Officer of Pine Labs, highlighted that the P3P and Grantex infrastructure builds the trust needed for AI agents to move from intent to secure, autonomous transaction execution at scale.

L&T Finance holds an AAA credit rating from four domestic agencies and, in August 2025, S&P Global Ratings upgraded its long‑term issuer rating to “BBB/Stable” from “BBB‑/Positive” and its short‑term rating to “A‑2” from “A‑3”. Fitch Ratings has affirmed its long‑term foreign and local‑currency issuer default ratings at “BBB‑” with a stable outlook. The company has also received ESG leadership scores, is certified as a Great Place To Work®, and has won awards for its “Digital Sakhi” CSR initiative focused on women’s empowerment and digital financial inclusion. Under its Lakshya 2031 plan, L&T Finance is transitioning to a risk‑first, technology‑first, AI‑native retail financial‑services institution and currently serves a customer base of over 2.9 crore, which it leverages for cross‑selling and up‑selling.

Pine Labs describes itself as a technology company building a Commerce OS that powers digital commerce across South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and the United States, connecting merchants, enterprises, financial institutions and consumers through a unified suite of payments, issuing, credit and fintech solutions.

The partnership will initially roll out flight‑booking capabilities but is designed to scale to multiple merchant categories, creating a new model of agent‑to‑agent commerce that combines AI intelligence with the trust and accountability expected from financial institutions.
