L&T agreed to sell its entire 100% stake in L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd to Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd for ₹1,461.47 crore.
The transaction, signed on April 29 2026 and to close by June 30 2026, will exit a business and unlock capital for engineering and technology segments.
L&T’s metro unit contributed ₹1,100.13 crore revenue (0.43% of total) and ₹807.49 crore net worth (0.83% of total) in FY 2025, a minimal share.
L&T’s order book was ₹7,33,161 crore in Dec 2025, with infrastructure (58%) and energy (34%) projects driving future revenue visibility.
