Larsen & Toubro Limited disclosed through a regulatory filing that its wholly-owned subsidiary, L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT), unveiled 40 products at SEMICON India 2026 under the theme "Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem".
The product portfolio reflects LTSCT's strategic focus on strengthening India's semiconductor capabilities across three priority areas: national security, digital sovereignty, and energy resilience. The technologies span secure identity solutions, intelligent surveillance systems, IP cameras, and communication solutions supporting critical infrastructure and strategic requirements.
Key milestones announced include:
- LTSCT's first Silicon Carbide (SiC) product platform - a high-performance 1200V SiC MOSFET platform engineered for next-generation power conversion applications including EV fast chargers, microgrids, solid-state transformers, and traction inverters
- Tape-out of a fully designed-in-India BLDC motor controller that integrates advanced protection features and flexible architecture to serve multiple models, reduce bill-of-materials costs, and support India's transition to energy-efficient BLDC ceiling fans
The live demonstrations at SEMICON included:
- Analog & Mixed Signal: Integrated BLDC controller and fully in-house designed USB C GaN charger
- Compute: Indigenous Vision Camera SoC combining advanced image processing with on-device AI acceleration, and Secure Identity Platform for e-passports, payment cards, and national ID systems with hardware-rooted security
- Connectivity & RF: Four indigenously designed modules for smart metering, automotive applications, and digital payments, including LCC43 Dynamic QR and Soundbox proof of concept for NPCI's proposed Trusted Device Layer
- Power Discrete and High-Power: MOSFETs, diodes, bridge rectifiers, and LTSCT's first in-house SiC power modules and devices
Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Chief Executive of L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited, commented that LTSCT represents L&T's investment and engineering commitment to India's semiconductor ecosystem, positioning the company as a key pillar in India's technological sovereignty. The company operates as a fabless enterprise focusing on designing smart devices for global customers across automotive, industrial, energy, data center, and telecommunications verticals, with offices in the US, Europe, Japan, and India.
