Larsen & Toubro Limited announced through a regulatory filing that its subsidiary, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore), has signed a contract for an ultra-mega gas compression project in the Middle East. The contract was secured against a letter of award issued in FY26.

The project involves engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of gas compression facilities for a prestigious client in the Middle East. The scope includes:

  • Gas inlet facilities
  • Gas compression systems
  • Condensate and produced water handling systems
  • Propane refrigeration systems
  • All associated utilities

The facilities will be developed for new onshore installations to process sour gas in compliance with applicable client standards, codes, and project requirements.

Additionally, L&T's Power Transmission & Distribution business will execute two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations to meet the power requirements of the gas compression plants.

According to E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President & Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, this contract "marks the start of a strategically important project that will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure." He further stated that the project "draws on our extensive experience in executing large and complex hydrocarbon facilities and reinforces our capability to deliver integrated solutions for challenging sour gas applications."

The project is classified as "Ultra-Mega" under L&T's order classification system, indicating a contract value exceeding ₹15,000 crore.

LTEH Onshore is described as one of India's largest EPC businesses, delivering comprehensive Lump Sum Turnkey solutions across upstream, midstream, and downstream hydrocarbon sectors with experience in refinery expansions, petrochemical complexes, gas processing plants, fertiliser plants, LNG terminals, and cross-country pipelines.
