L3Harris Wins $499.6M Defense Contract
L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) subsidiary L3Harris Technologies Integrated Systems L.P., operating as Aeromet, was awarded an indefinite‑delivery/indefinite‑quantity (IDIQ) contract by the U.S. Department of Defense with a maximum ceiling of $499,573,000. The award, announced on 7 July 2026, is for support of the Missile Defense Agency Flight Test Airborne Sensors program.
The scope of work includes operations and sustainment of flight‑test airborne‑sensors aircraft and sensor equipment, mission planning and flight‑test execution, as well as improvement and modernization efforts. All work will be performed in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
An initial task order valued at $22,175,032 will be issued, and the ordering period extends from 15 September 2026 through 14 September 2036. Fiscal 2026 research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) funds amounting to $5,000,000 are being obligated on the award.
The contract was competitively procured through a publication on the Governmentwide Point of Entry website, but only one proposal was received. This contract represents a significant addition to Aeromet’s defense portfolio and secures multi‑year revenue potential under the IDIQ arrangement.
