LG Electronics Expands AI Data‑Center Cooling Portfolio

LG Electronics disclosed that it has secured approximately 600 billion won in purchase orders for AI data‑center cooling equipment during the first half of 2026, with the bulk of these orders comprising traditional chillers and air‑side cooling systems. The company indicated that it anticipates obtaining additional orders worth several trillion won by the end of 2026, which it expects will drive higher revenue from rack‑side cooling products.

The firm is shifting its product focus beyond conventional chillers to include rack‑side solutions such as coolant distribution units (CDUs) and cold plates, responding to increasing rack power density and heat generation in AI‑driven data centers. LG has received NVIDIA certification for its 600‑kilowatt CDU and is in the final certification stage for a 1‑megawatt unit. Larger capacity models of 2.5 megawatts and 4 megawatts are scheduled for development in the second half of 2026.

By broadening its offering to higher‑capacity, rack‑side liquid‑cooling equipment, LG expects revenue from these segments to rise as liquid cooling gains wider adoption across AI data‑center deployments.
