LIXIL Corporation, a global maker of water and housing products, issued a press release on 13 October 2026 announcing the construction of a new window‑manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, India. The plant will cover 500,000 square feet and is scheduled to commence operations in 2028. The expansion is driven by the newly formed “LHT Global” organization and aligns with India’s “Make in India” initiative, aiming to create a highly responsive, localized supply chain for the LIXIL Housing Technology (LHT) India business.

Production Impact

The Hyderabad facility will complement LHT’s existing window‑manufacturing plant in IMT Manesar, Haryana. Together, the two sites are expected to increase the local production ratio of the TOSTEM brand—from the current 30 % to more than 60 % of total Indian output—thereby enhancing production capacity, responsiveness, and service coverage across northern and southern India.

Product Offering

LIXIL will market pre‑engineered aluminium window systems and sliding‑door profiles under the TOSTEM brand. A key innovation, the “Windows in the Box” solution, ships precision‑engineered, ready‑to‑assemble kits directly to construction sites. Eighty percent of quality‑critical processes for these kits are managed in‑house, reducing reliance on multiple local fabricators and ensuring consistent global quality.

Retail Expansion

Concurrently, LIXIL plans a retail rollout involving approximately 160 partner companies, more than 150 showroom locations, and coverage across 130 Indian cities. This network is intended to support the expanded manufacturing capacity and provide end‑customers with direct access to the TOSTEM product range.
