Lokta Next 100 Programme Overview
Lokta announced the launch of Lokta Next 100, a programme that provides RBI‑registered non‑banking financial companies (NBFCs) with a loan book of up to Rs 100 crore access to its agentic loan‑servicing platform at no platform fee for the first 24 months. The initiative targets the 7,739 NBFCs that sit in RBI’s base layer (below the Rs 1,000 crore asset threshold) and are unable to afford dedicated in‑house lending technology. Pure‑play micro‑finance NBFCs are excluded.
RBI NBFC Landscape
According to Lokta’s count of the RBI register (as of 30 June 2026), India has 8,315 NBFCs registered in lending categories, of which 458 are above the Rs 1,000 crore asset threshold and 7,739 are in the base layer.
Platform Features
The platform delivers end‑to‑end loan‑book management after loan approval, covering:
- Servicing and a loan‑product studio
- Loan‑level accounting
- Regulatory and investor reporting
- Portfolio analytics and early‑warning signals
- Collections and recovery workflows
- Partner management for Lending Service Providers
- APIs and bureau reporting
- Maker‑checker controls on every change, ensuring dual‑approval audit trails
- Parallel migration capability with reconciliation line‑by‑line before cut‑over
- Data hosted in India, fully exportable, and never used to train external AI models
Artificial Intelligence Component
Lokta’s AI module is opt‑in, proposes actions, but the deterministic core—controlled by the lender—makes the final decision. The AI cannot post entries to the ledger and can be disabled at any time. This design aligns with the RBI FREE‑AI Committee report dated 13 August 2025, which states that entities deploying AI must remain accountable for AI decisions.
Pricing Structure
- Free period: No platform fee for up to 24 months.
- Post‑free fee: 1 basis point per month on the loan book (equivalent to ≈0.12 % per annum). For a Rs 100 crore book this equals Rs 12 lakh per year.
- One‑time charges: Rs 1 lakh for migration and Rs 50,000 for bank integration, both plus taxes. Fresh licences incur no migration charge and the integration fee is waived.
- Billing commences at the earlier of the loan book exceeding Rs 100 crore for two consecutive months or the end of the 24‑month term.
On‑boarding and Scale‑up
Lokta will onboard two lenders per month, processing applications in the order received and providing assisted go‑live support rather than a self‑serve model. The company plans to extend the programme to lenders in Asia‑Pacific and Africa in the coming weeks.
Timing and Market Context
The programme is being opened ahead of the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, scheduled for the following week, to capitalize on heightened industry attention.
