Launch of BlueVerse™ Industrial AI Lab
LTM, an AI‑centric global technology services company and a Larsen & Toubro Group Company, announced on 23 October 2026 the opening of its BlueVerse™ Industrial AI Lab in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The lab is positioned as a co‑innovation hub that brings together vision AI, robotics, embedded engineering, device testing, digital twins and industrial AI agents within a single sandbox environment. Its purpose is to enable enterprises to accelerate adoption of artificial intelligence across physical operations and intelligent products, moving solutions from pilot stages to full production.
The facility is open to LTM’s clients and partners for conceptualisation and co‑creation of future industrial operations. It addresses challenges typical of industrial settings—hazardous, noisy, and connectivity‑constrained environments, as well as legacy equipment—by providing a collaborative space where solutions can be developed, simulated and validated for both new installations and brownfield sites. The lab leverages LTM’s portfolio of industrial AI solutions, proprietary intellectual property, patents and manufacturing‑focused small language models.
Core capabilities highlighted in the release are:
- Innovation, Ideation & Implementation: development of client‑specific AI‑driven solutions from idea generation through practical implementation.
- Connected industrial AI: integration of multi‑spectral computer‑vision systems, smart edge devices, digital twins, industry‑specific language models and industrial AI agents to enhance sensing, interpretation and decision‑making across operations.
- Robotics and simulation: a dedicated robotics zone for designing and virtually validating autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robots (cobots) and drones for inspection, material handling and other shop‑floor applications.
- Embedded and device engineering: facilities to develop and test consumer‑electronics and medical‑technology devices, covering hardware, embedded software, on‑device AI, interoperability, reliability, performance, safety and applicable regulatory requirements.
Gururaj Deshpande, Chief Delivery Officer of LTM, stated that industrial businesses seeking shorter time‑to‑market, higher operational availability, improved worker safety and stronger regulatory compliance can leverage Industrial AI as a powerful lever, and that the BlueVerse Lab provides the necessary guardrails, governance and security.
The launch reinforces LTM’s investment in AI, product engineering and industry innovation. It brings together LTM AI experts, domain practitioners, leading technology partners and an ecosystem of industrial AI start‑ups that have collectively scaled more than 100 Industrial AI solutions worldwide, helping customers translate ideas into measurable business outcomes more rapidly.
