MACCIA Launches "Gav Tithe Udyojak" Initiative

On 6 July 2026, the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA) officially launched the "Gav Tithe Udyojak" (An Entrepreneur in Every Village) programme at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan in Mumbai. The programme, spanning 2026‑2031, aims to nurture 36,000 Rural Micro Entrepreneurs (RMEs) across all 36 districts of Maharashtra. It is projected to generate more than 144,000 local employment opportunities and achieve an annual financial turnover of approximately ₹3,600 crore by the third year of implementation. In addition, MACCIA intends to develop 300 social entrepreneurs to lead community‑centric projects.

The launch coincided with the ceremonial handover of the MACCIA presidential charge from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to the newly elected President Ravindra Mangawe for the 2026‑2028 tenure. Chief Minister Fadnavis affirmed full government alignment with the initiative, reiterating the state’s ambition to become a one‑trillion‑dollar economy. Industry Minister Uday Samant announced that the State Industry Department will shortly sign a Memorandum of Understanding with MACCIA to provide institutional support.

A joint platform named "Udyojak Janata Darbar" (Entrepreneurs' Public Court) will be introduced to offer fast‑track redressal of industrial and business grievances. MACCIA President Ravindra Mangawe highlighted that the programme will empower rural youth, women, farmers and self‑help groups through comprehensive training, technology access, financial backing and seamless integration with existing government welfare schemes, effectively converting job seekers into job creators.

The high‑profile event was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Industry Minister Uday Samant, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, Minister of State Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, MLC Pravin Darekar, MLAs Rahul Awade, Rajendra Patil Yadravkar, Baburao Kadam Kohlikar, Satyajit Deshmukh, MACCIA President Ravindra Mangawe, Chairman‑Trust Board Ashish Pednekar, Immediate Past President Santosh Mandlecha, Senior Vice President Karunakar Shetty, and members of the Governing Council, Managing Committee and Executive Committee.
