Mahindra August 2026 Vehicle Sales Grow 42% YoY

Automotive Business Performance

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited reported total auto sales of 107,648 vehicles in August 2026, representing 42% year-on-year growth including exports.

Utility Vehicles Segment:

Domestic UV sales: 59,257 vehicles, representing 50% growth compared to August 2025 (39,399 units)
Total UV sales including exports: 61,167 vehicles
Year-to-date August 2026 UV sales: 294,050 units, showing 22% growth compared to YTD August 2025 (241,337 units)

Commercial Vehicles Segment:

Domestic commercial vehicle sales: 27,415 vehicles, representing 22% growth
LCV < 2T sales: 3,999 units, showing 37% growth (2,925 units in August 2025)
LCV 2T-3.5T sales: 23,416 units, showing 20% growth (19,502 units in August 2025)
Three-wheelers (including electric): 14,922 units, showing 42% growth (10,527 units in August 2025)

Export Performance:

Total exports: 6,054 units, representing 71% growth compared to August 2025 (3,548 units)
Year-to-date August 2026 exports: 26,012 units, showing 63% growth compared to YTD August 2025 (15,983 units)

Management Commentary:

Dr Velusamy R, President, Automotive Business, stated: "In August, we achieved SUV sales of 59257 units delivering growth of 50%, and total vehicle sales stood at 107648, a 42% YoY growth. Demand continues to remain strong across our portfolio, with the updated Scorpio-N and BE 6 SPORTEQ receiving strong market response from customers. We look forward to building on this momentum during the festive season."

Farm Equipment Business Performance

Domestic Sales:

August 2026 domestic tractor sales: 27,595 units
Growth of 5% compared to August 2025 (26,201 units)
Year-to-date August 2026 domestic sales: 212,664 units, showing 17% growth compared to YTD August 2025 (182,390 units)

Export Performance:

August 2026 exports: 1,912 units
Flat growth compared to August 2025 (1,916 units)
Year-to-date August 2026 exports: 9,304 units, showing 9% growth compared to YTD August 2025 (8,524 units)

Total Tractor Sales:

August 2026 total sales (domestic + exports): 29,507 units
Growth of 5% compared to August 2025 (28,117 units)
Year-to-date August 2026 total sales: 221,968 units, showing 16% growth compared to YTD August 2025 (190,914 units)

Management Commentary:

Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, stated: "We sold 27,595 tractors in the domestic market during August 2026, a growth of 5% over last year. Steady improvement in rainfall has helped near-normal Kharif sowing. Continued support of various government schemes and the upcoming festive season should bolster rural sentiment. In the Exports market, we have sold 1,912 tractors."

Trucks & Buses Business Performance

Overall Performance:

Total trucks and buses sales (including exports): 2,495 vehicles
Growth of 47% compared to August 2025 (1,701 units)
Year-to-date August 2026 total sales: 14,893 units, showing 17% growth compared to YTD August 2025 (12,684 units)

Segment Breakdown:

Cargo vehicles: 1,532 units, showing 55% growth (989 units in August 2025)
Passenger vehicles: 963 units, showing 35% growth (712 units in August 2025)

MTBD Performance:

Total MTBD sales: 1,320 units, showing 54% growth (859 units in August 2025)
Cargo vehicles: 1,040 units, showing 56% growth (668 units in August 2025)
Passenger vehicles: 280 units, showing 47% growth (191 units in August 2025)

SML Performance:

Total SML sales: 1,175 units, showing 40% growth (842 units in August 2025)
Cargo vehicles: 492 units, showing 53% growth (321 units in August 2025)
Passenger vehicles: 683 units, showing 31% growth (521 units in August 2025)

Management Commentary:

Vinod Sahay, Executive Chairman – SML, President – Aerospace, Advanced Technologies, Trucks, Buses & CE, stated: "The truck and bus segment continues to be supported by higher infrastructure spending, rising freight demand, and replacement demand, while facing challenges on rising input and fuel costs. Volumes were muted in August 2025 due to anticipated GST changes, and hence the growth this month also reflects the low base of last year. During the month Mahindra Truck & Bus division launched all-new Mahindra BLAZO i-TRK, strengthening its Heavy Commercial Vehicles portfolio. Engineered around the philosophy of 'Profit Ka Rocket', it introduces a powerful proposition centered on up to 10% more fuel efficiency and a 48-hour Uptime Guarantee backed by a ₹10,000 per day assurance."
