Inauguration Overview
Maiva Pharma, a global contract manufacturing and development organization focused on sterile injectables, inaugurated its new manufacturing facility at Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu, on 15 June 2026. The plant occupies a 22‑acre site and is intended to meet both current and future market requirements through advanced technologies, flexible production capabilities, and world‑class quality systems.
Facility Specifications
When fully developed, the complex will contain six manufacturing lines capable of producing a broad portfolio of sterile injectable dosage forms, including vials, pre‑filled syringes (PFS), cartridges, suspension products, and lyophilized formulations. The design incorporates isolator‑based lines for liquid vials, PFS, cartridges, and lyophilized vials, a technology that enhances sterility assurance, operational efficiency, and manufacturing flexibility for regulated global markets.
Phase 1 Production Lines
The Phase 1 expansion has commissioned three dedicated lines: a high‑speed vial‑filling line, a combined pre‑filled syringe and cartridge line, and a lyophilization line. These lines enable immediate production of the aforementioned dosage forms while the remaining three lines are slated for later activation.
Quality Assurance Infrastructure
The facility is supported by advanced Quality Control chemical laboratories and state‑of‑the‑art microbiology laboratories, providing comprehensive analytical testing and in‑house quality assurance functions. This infrastructure ensures compliance with international regulatory standards throughout the product lifecycle.
