Rajya Sabha Chairman Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath to re-elected member Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, who represents the state of Karnataka, in the Parliament House on June 29, 2026. The oath was taken in Hindi during a ceremony attended by numerous senior political figures including Deputy Chairman Shri Harivansh, Leader of the House and Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Law and Justice Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Shri L. Murugan, and Rajya Sabha members Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Shri Jairam Ramesh, Shri Mukul Wasnik, and Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain. Lok Sabha members Smt. Priyanka Gandhi and Shri K.C. Venugopal, along with Secretary General Shri P. C. Mody and other senior officers of the secretariat, were also present at the event.
