Manipal University Jaipur Awards 5,655 Online Degrees at Sixth Convocation
On 12 September 2026, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) conducted the sixth convocation ceremony of its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). A total of 5,655 graduates from MBA, BBA, MCA, BCA, MA (JMC), M.Com. and B.Com. programmes received their degrees. Of these, 903 graduates were awarded degrees in person by university dignitaries, while the remaining 4,752 were conferred in absentia. The ceremony also included learners residing outside India, underscoring the global reach of MUJ’s online programmes.
The event was attended by Mr Ashish Kumar Srivastava, Managing Director of Haver & Boecker India, who served as Chief Guest, and Mr Ambrish Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of UNext Learning, who was the Guest of Honour. University officials present included President Dr N. N. Sharma, Pro‑President Commander (Dr.) Anil Rana, Registrar Dr Amit Soni, Provost Dr Nitu Bhatnagar, Director of CDOE Dr Mallikarjuna Gadapa, Controller of Examinations Mr Dasari Nagaraju, and members of the Academic Council.
In his welcome address, Commander (Dr.) Anil Rana highlighted the perseverance, self‑discipline and resilience of online learners. President Dr N. N. Sharma spoke on MUJ’s achievements in research, rankings, academics, SWAYAM MOOCs and sports, and emphasized the role of online degrees in enhancing professional competencies across diverse sectors. He noted that the graduating cohort spanned ages from 19 to 78 years, reflecting lifelong learning.
Chief Guest Mr Ashish Kumar Srivastava praised MUJ’s blend of academic and industry‑oriented education and urged graduates to continuously upgrade their skills. Guest of Honour Mr Ambrish Sinha echoed the importance of specialised knowledge for career relevance. Director Dr Mallikarjuna Gadapa stressed that technology‑enabled education aligns with digital‑age demands, offering flexibility and digital skill development.
The convocation concluded with remarks from Registrar Dr Amit Soni, who thanked all participants and extended best wishes to the graduates. The ceremony was live‑streamed through the university’s official channel, allowing remote students and parents to partake virtually.
